Fine Arts Association Auditions for "Wizard of Oz”
The Fine Arts Association, 38660 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby, announces
auditions for “The Wizard of Oz.”

Audition Dates:  Tuesday, September 9 (6:30-7:30 pm for ages 8 to 14 years
old and 7:30-9:30 pm for ages 15 years old to Adult) and Wednesday,
September 10, 2003 (6:30-7:30 pm for ages 8 to 14 years old and 7:30-9:30 pm
for ages 15 years old to Adult) Appointments are needed.

Audition Location: The Corning Auditorium of the Fine Arts Association,
38660 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby.

Director: Janet Shank

Music Director:  Dan Call

Choreographer:  Marlene Leber

Roles:  The following roles are open:  Dorothy, Scarecrow, Ozians,
Munchkins, Poppies, Flying Monkeys (not all monkeys fly). The Fine Arts
Theatre Department policy encourages NON-TRADITIONAL CASTING for all
productions.

Preparation:  Actors should come prepared to sing 16 bars of a song from a
Broadway musical.  Children may sing 16 bars from a Disney film.  Sheet
music must be brought for your song written for piano accompaniment.  Dress
for movement.  No character shoes necessary.  Be prepared to show any
special talents, i.e. tumbling & gymnastics.  Come prepared to read from
script.  Plan to stay for your allotted time.

Rehearsals begin: Monday, October 6, 2003 at 6:30 pm.  Parents required to
stay for this rehearsal only.

Performance dates: November 21 & 28, December 5 & 12 at 7:30 pm and November
22, 23, 29 & 30, December 6, 7, 13, & 14 at 3:00 pm.  (There is a
possibility of additional performances being added on the Saturday
evenings.)
