Re: Hudson Players to Help Flood Victims

HUDSON, OHIO – The Hudson Players of Barlow Community Center have come up
with a creative way to help Hudsonites affected by the floods. On September
13, “Welcome to Hudson Day,” Hudson’s only community theater will offer
season subscriptions, memberships and play passes at discounts of up to 30%.
The Hudson Players will then donate 15% of whatever they bring in to the
Versailles Fund. These discounts are good for one day only and will not be
repeated for the rest of the season.

The Hudson Players’ season opens soon with Hudson’s Second Annual Community
Talent Show, an opportunity to show off, or see, talents of every kind. It
is not a contest, just a chance to get on stage and have some fun!
Performances September 19 and 20 will follow talent show auditions September
2 and 3.

The first play of the season will be “Catch Me if You Can,” a production
with a surprise ending. This is a comedy-mystery in which an advertising
executive’s new bride disappears and is replaced by a different woman.
While he knows better, everyone else insists that the new woman is his real
wife. This leads to murder and more. Auditions will be September 7 and 8
with performances November 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22.

“Fiddler on the Roof” will be this year’s musical. “Fiddler” is a warm,
fun, and moving production. This family entertainment features songs
including, “If I were a Rich Man” and “Tradition.” Auditions will be
November 9 and 10 and performances February 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 29 and
March 6, 7 (the 2:00 pm matinee performance is February 29).

Ending their 59th season, The Hudson Players will present the comedy,
“Perfect Wedding.” It features confused men, frustrated women and a
girlfriend who might find out what is really going on. It’s a fun, farcical
romp that will make for a great evening out! Auditions will be March 7 and
8 with performances April 30 and May 1, 7, 8, 14, 15.

The Hudson Players perform at the Barlow Community Center (across from the
Fire station on Oviatt St.) Most shows are Friday and Saturday evenings at
8:00pm, with the exception of a 2:00pm Sunday matinee for “Fiddler.”
Tickets may be reserved by calling 330 655-8522, writing to P.O. Box 2159
Hudson, Ohio 44236 or via purchase at the Learned Owl Bookstore.
