"THE GOODBYE GIRL" - THE MUSICAL

The Broadview Heights Spotlights proudly announce the opening of
their newest production, The Goodbye Girl-the musical. This funny and
heart-warming tale was based on the well-known film about an unlikely
romance between Paula, a bitter, single mother who has been jilted one too
many times, and Elliot, the opinionated actor who shows up on her doorstep
with a lease to sublet her apartment.
This romantic musical comedy was written by noted Broadway
playwright and screenwriter Neil Simon and scored by Marvin Hamlisch (A
Chorus Line) and David Zippel (lyricist of Disney's Hercules and Mulan). It
is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International,
New York, NY.
The Spotlights' production is directed by Norm Bennett and features
Jayne Bartish-Kacik of Strongsville as Paula, Eric L. Coffelt of Parma as
Elliot, and Nina Takacs of Solon as Paula's precocious daughter. A live
orchestra featuring members of the Western Reserve Community Band will
enhance the production.
Production dates are Fridays and Saturdays, September 12, 13, 19,
20, 26 and 27 at 8:00 p.m., and one matinee performance on Sunday, September
28, at 2:00 p.m. It will be held at the Broadview Center Community Building
(9543 Broadview Road, 1/2 mi. south of Rt. 82). Tickets are $12 for adults
and $10 for seniors and students.
Please call the Spotlights box office at (216) 556-0660 for
performance details and reservations.
