LINDA KAHN:
Creativity, A Healthy Defense

Linda Kahn holds a Master of Arts in Dance from Case Western Reserve
University, a Master of Liberal Arts in Dance, Theater and
Communication from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts
in Dance from the University of Illinois. 

Performance includes choreography by David Dorfman, Doug Elkins,
Diane Gray, Sasha Spielvogel, Susan VanPelt, Lori Belilove, Darwin
Prioleau, Beverly Blossom, as well as Isadora Duncan and Helen
Tamiris reconstructions. 

She is an Ohio Arts Council Artist-in-Residence, an Artist-Teacher
with Young Audiences of Greater Cleveland and has been on faculty for
numerous American College Dance Festivals. She has taught and
choreographed for renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts, was
resident choreographer for a professional children's theater for 12
years and produced a full length concert of her work at the Halle
Theater in Cleveland. 

In addition to a Governor's nomination, she is the recepient of a
2002 Arts Educator of the Year Award for her work as an
Artist-Teacher with young students. With interest and vast experience
in colloboration, her work in the classroom and on the stage is
characterized by the use of text, fine art and movement about themes
of authentic human experience.

dance techniques with a strong gestural component, a close
relationship to music and the integration of spoken text."

Ms. Kahn has presented research at the Doris Humphrey Centennial
Celebration sponsored by the Congress on Research and Dance and has
published under her own label kahncepts.
