The Forest Lodge Community Center in Akron, Ohio will be featuring varied
instruction in the arts for the Akron Community.
The City of Akron is committed to establishing Forest Lodge Community Center
as a community arts center, offering opportunities for education and
experience in the arts to our community, and opportunity for growth to area
artists.
We are currently seeking instructors for the Late Fall/ Winter season.
Subjects for instruction are essentially wide open, but should have a
general community appeal, with more specialization possible as your class
establishes "a following". Artists specializing in Theatre, Visual Arts,
Music, Dance and unique Craftspeople are encouraged to submit proposals for
classes, as well as any of you with something else exciting to offer our
community. Examples would be a monologue/audition class, a music class for
preschoolers, watercolors for older adults, improvisation workshops for
middle schoolers or high schoolers, drawing, portrait painting, mask making,
quilting, writing workshops, journaling, soft sculpture classes, classes for
parent/child, etc. Age specifications should be included. Kiln use can be
arranged off site. The more diverse our curriculum, the better!
Time slots available for programming are:
Mondays- 9-1:30; 6-8:30 p.m.
Tuesdays- 9-1:30; 6-8:30 p.m.
Wednesdays- 9-1:30 p.m.
Thursdays- 9-1:30 p.m.
Fridays- 6-8:30 p.m.
Saturdays- 9-9 p.m.
Ideally, classes should run on a six week format, meeting weekly, beginning
the week of November 10th through December 15; or January 5 through February
9th. Longer or shorter class times are available. Workshop formats are
also available, beginning Oct 27.
There are several spaces available for programming.
This is a great opportunity for artists to share their name, skills, and
artwork with the community while generating income. Established artists and
qualified newcomers are welcome.
Please call or email for additional information.
