Dobama Theatre Talkback with The Domino Heart Playwright Matthew Edison
Sunday, October 19th – Free to Ticketholders

Dobama Theatre is proud to present the United States premiere of The Domino
Heart by Matthew Edison, directed by Joyce Casey.  The Domino Heart
premiered in March 2003 at the Tarragon Theatre in Toronto.  After Dobama’s
7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 19th performance, Edison will be available to
speak to audience members about the play.  The talkback is free to
ticketholders.

Edison is an actor and writer. His first play, The Domino Heart, was
presented at the Tarragon theatre in Toronto 2002.  The play was nominated
for 2 Dora Mavor Moore awards, including Outstanding New Play, and was
recently translated into French by Manon Boduin.  He is a 3-time recipient
of the National Art Centre Young Playwrights award for his plays, Feeding
the Roaches, The Flood, and The Jar lid.  Other plays include, Stranger
Family, Shovelhead, and a short play, Return to Family.  He is currently
playing Mozart in Peter Schaffer’s Amadeus in Toronto and adapting the
novel, The Law of Similars, for film. Edison is a graduate of The Stella
Adler Conservatory of Acting in New York.  He lives in Toronto.

About the play:
Cara Fortree (Carla Dunlavey), university professor and mother, is widowed
when her husband is suddenly killed in a car accident.  Reverend Mortimer
Wright (Glenn Colerider*), is sleepless in his hospital room.  Young
advertising executive Leo Juarez (Fabio Polanco*) is camped out in his
corporate office in Chicago.  In the night sky above, a helicopter carries
the organ that will connect them all.

transplant surgery – including the widow of a man killed in a car crash, a
minister and a young advertising executive.  Cara Fortree, university
