Fall Classes for Kids at Dobama Theatre!  "Act now" to reserve a spot!  :)

I. WORLD ADVENTURE!
Ages 7 to 9
Discover other cultures customs and stories through theater, music, dance
and art. Where do our folk tales, stories and myths come from?
Time: Saturdays 10-11 a.m.
beginning  October 11 (no class Thanksgiving weekend)
Cost:  $85
Instructor: Rebecca Borger, local actress, dancer and teacher.  Borger has
performed on the Dobama stage and danced with Tom & Suzanne Evert and Sarah
Morrison Dance Company.

II. ACT-ABILITY
Ages 10 to 12
Dobama’s Acting Fundamentals class includes voice and movement techniques,
improvisation, exercises with music, creating your own scene, and scene
study
Time: Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 p.m.
beginning October 15 (no class Thanksgiving weekend)
Cost:  $85
Instructor: Tyler Postma, local actress and teacher.  Postma has performed
at
Dobama Theatre, the Cleveland Play House, and Case Western Reserve
University.
She has taught at Case Western Reserve University, Cain Park School for the
Arts, and with Cleveland Opera on Tour.

III. ACT OUT
Ages 13 to 18
Students will learn how to develop their basic tools – voice, body,
intellect and emotions – before moving into script analysis and performance.
Time: Saturdays 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
beginning  October 11 (no class Thanksgiving weekend)
Cost: $100
Instructor: Bernadette Clemens, local actress and teacher who has performed
at many off-Broadway and area theatres.  She has been an acting coach for
students since 1997.

IV. PERFORMANCE WRITING
Ages 12 to 17
Students will learn how to write through acting improvisation.  Exercises
will spark creativity while an understanding of dramatic principles will
shape writing form.
Time: Mondays 4-6 p.m.
beginning October 6
Cost: $125
Instructor: Joanne Durante, professional writer/teacher/playwright who has
received staged readings/productions at Cleveland School of the Arts;
Cleveland Play House, Education Department; New Play Festival, Cleveland
Public Theatre.

October 17-November 9  The Domino Heart by Matthew Edison, directed by Joyce
Casey – U.S. Premiere!
We meet a trio of characters connected by the miracle of modern heart
transplant surgery – including the widow of a man killed in a car crash, a
minister and a young advertising executive.  Cara Fortree, university
professor and mother, is widowed when her husband is suddenly killed in a
car accident.  Reverend Mortimer Wright is sleepless in his hospital room.
Young advertising executive Leo Juarez is camped out in his corporate office
in Chicago.  In the night sky above, a helicopter carries the organ that
will connect them all.

November 28-December 21	V-E Day by local playwright Faye Sholiton, directed
by Jacqi Loewy  Winner of the Arlene R. and William P. Lewis Playwriting
Contest at BYU!  World Premiere!

January 16-February 8	Raised in Captivity by Nicky Silver, directed Russ
Borski  Ohio Premiere!

March 5-28	In the Heart of America by MacArthur Grant winner Naomi Wallace,
directed by Sonya Robbins  Ohio Premiere!

April 23-May 16  The Last Five Years  by Tony Award winner Jason Robert
Brown, directed by Victoria Bussert and featuring Scott Plate and Carol
Dunne  Ohio Premiere!
