To schedule an appointment please call GLTG at 440-286-2255, Wednesday,
Thursday, Friday or Saturday from 10:00am - 2:00pm or Tuesday from 5:00pm - 9:00pm.
AUDITION INFORMATION: Choose one of these options: Present a one minute
memorized contemporary monologue and an un-memorized selection from the script OR
you can read two selections from the script.
The selections from the script will be provided to you when you arrive for
your audition. Please provide a current picture and resume if available, and
arrive at least fifteen minutes early to fill out an audition form and select
and look over the cutting from the script.
ABOUT THE PLAY: In this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning Broadway hit,
a mathematician's daughter struggles with her father's brilliant legacy - and
finds that genius and madness share uncomfortably close ties. Coming to terms
with life and her family, Catherine, a young graduate student, finds love when
she least expects it. Contains adult language.
ROLES AVAILABLE: 2 men, 2 women. Ages below are 'character' ages.
Catherine -- mid twenties
Robert -- fifty - sixty; Catherine's father
Claire -- late twenties to mid thirties; Catherine's sister
Hal -- mid to late twenties; Robert's former student
COMPENSATION: Actors appear in GLTG productions on a volunteer basis.
REHEARSAL INFORMATION: Three to six times a week (depending upon the role)
starting April 4, 2004. Weeknight rehearsals will be 7-10:30pm; Weekend
rehearsals will be Saturday afternoons and Sunday afternoons or evenings. Rehearsal
location for the first few weeks will be decided after casting is complete.
BACKSTAGE positions available in all technical areas.
PRODUCTION DATES: May 6 - May 23, 2004. Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at
8:00pm. Sundays at 2:00pm. Possible one or two week extension.
