12th Annual IFP/Chicago Independent Filmmakers Conference

Register today for IFP/Chicago's 12th Annual Independent Filmmakers 
Conference, October 31 - November 2, 2003!  

The Conference is a unique, weekend-long event at the School of the Art 
Institute of Chicago that offers opportunities for Midwestern filmmakers to push 
their independent and other film projects ahead. Full Conference passes start at 
only $50!

OVERVIEW
Conference highlights include panels and workshops focused on indie 
filmmaking, the Flyover Zone Short Film Festival, the 2004 Production Fund winner 
announcement, premieres of made-in-the-Midwest independent films and of course, the 
Opening Night film and party!  The Opening Night film will be the 
Chicago-made feature film, Uncle Nino, starring Joe Mantegna and Anne Archer.

PANELS AND SPEAKERS
Some of the panel discussions will include: Financing Your Indie Dream Panel; 
The State of Independent Film Distribution; Scheduling on a Budget, 
Post-Production, just to name a few. 

The Conference will feature some of the most respected experts in the 
independent filmmaking community.  One speaker of note, Mark Damon, considered one of 
the world's leading authorities on international distribution, and one of the 
original founders of AFMA, is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer 
of MDP Worldwide, a production, distribution and financing company.  Mr. Damon 
has produced or executive produced over 100 films, including such noteworthy 
films as the critically acclaimed World War II drama, Das Boot.

Another featured speaker is Mark Horowitz, who has over 15 years' experience 
in international feature film distribution.  His market experience ranges from 
commercial big budget films with high profile cast to independent art house 
from burgeoning directors. Films Mr. Horowitz has been involved with include 
Academy Award nominee Pollock and World Traveler. Most recently Mr. Horowitz was 
President of Alliance Atlantis Pictures International, distributors of films 
such as Neil Jordan's latest thriller Double Down, the teen hit Slackers, 
David Cronenberg's Crash and Existenz and Neil Labute's In the Company of Men.

In addition, Harris Tulchin who has practiced entertainment, communications, 
and multimedia law since 1978 will be a speaker at the Conference.  He is the 
Co-Author of the book entitled: "The Independent Film Producer's Survival 
Guide: A Business and Legal Sourcebook."  In addition, Mr. Tulchin has served as 
Executive Producer of nine feature films, including the critically acclaimed To 
Sleep With Anger" and Guy financed and distributed by PolyGram, as well as a 
Producer's Rep on hundreds of completed motion pictures.
