Emmy Writer Redefines the MAN in January 2004 at Cleveland Public =
Theatre

Usually when people speak of the MAN, they are referring to the =
establishment, but Emmy winning writer and director Alex P. Michaels is =
using the title as the acronym for The Magnificent Arrogant Nigger. The =
MAN is a one act interactive visual event that shows how a black man can =
be just as good as any white man and why America just doesn't get it. =
Mr. Michaels is currently producing digital movies through his digital =
movie company Prelude2Cinema, but has acted and directed on the stages =
of the Karamu House and the Cleveland Public Theatre. The MAN will use =
elements from Mr. Michaels life as an actor, producer, director and =
writer in Cleveland, Ohio. He will also show clips from his movies. Mr. =
Michaels has studied screenwriting at Stanford University, playwrighting =
at the Karamu House and he won an Emmy for writing the TV Movie "What =
Angels Fear." His website features movie clips, his on-line journal and =
photos.=20

The full title of the show is "The Magnificent Arrogant Nigger or I =
Never Learned to Dance Like Fred Astaire." It will be for three days =
only at the Cleveland Public Theatre January 23 & 24, 2004 at 8pm and =
January 25, 2004 at 3pm at 6415 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, OH 44102.=20

The play will use movie clips from Prelude2Cinema. Those who have worked =
