Sarah May to Direct The Waverly Gallery
Boulevard Theatre announces upcoming auditions for Kenneth Lonergan's recent 
hit The Waverly Gallery, to be directed by Sarah May. 

About the Play A Pulitzer Prize finalist,The Waverly Gallery is a powerfully 
poignant and often hilarious play about the final years of a generous, chatty 
and feisty grandmother's battle against Alzheimer's disease.  A left-wing 
social activist, Gladys is the long-time owner of a Greenwich Village art gallery. 
The play explores her fight to retain her independence and the effect on her 
family, which includes, her psychiatrist daughter, her psychiatrist son-in-law 
and her speechwriter grandson.  A visiting artist also plays an important 
role in the relationships. 

Audition Information-ALL ROLES OPEN
Cast:  2 women ages 45-75
       3 men   ages  25-55
Cold reading from the script. Script to be available at audition.
Auditions will be held November 17 & 18 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Shaker Hts. 
Community Life Building, 3450 Lee Road, just south of Van Aken Blvd. in Shaker 
Hts. 216/491-1360.  If necessary, callbacks will be held November 20 at 6 p.m.

All actors are volunteer.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will begin in early January and will held Monday-Friday evenings.

Production
The show will be held in mid to late February in varying alternative 
locations.  Discussions with the audience will be a part of several performances.

About the Director
Sarah May has been involved in Cleveland theatre for many years.  Most 
recently, she directed Rebecca Gilman's Boy Gets Girl at Beck Theatre, where she 
also directed Gilman's Spinning into Butter last year.  Other notable directing 
achievements have been Charenton Theatre's Six Degrees of Separation, named 
Scene Magazine's best show of 2003 and Beck's A Piece of my Heart, winner of the 
2001 Northern Ohio Live Award of Achievement in Theatre. She has served as 
Education Director for Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Artistic Director of Karamu 
Theatre and guest director for most area theatres. She spent 10 years in New 
York City, performing, directing and developing educational programs for 
several theatres. 

About the Theatre  Boulevard Theatre was formed in 1999 as an adult community 
theatre in conjunction with the Shaker Heights Community Life Department.  
Productions have included Play On!, The Shadow Box, Side by Side by Sondheim, 
The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged), Oleanna and others.  

Most recently, Boulevard's production of the Tony-award winning ART has 
played to sold-out audiences.  The next performance is November 14 & 15 at 8 p.m. 
at the Kelly-Randall Gallery, 2678 W.14TH.ST., Cleveland's artsy Tremont
