North Coast Men’s Chorus Releases First CD: “Behold!”

CLEVELAND - Nearly two years in the making, the North Coast Men’s Chorus announces the release of its first commercial recording, “Behold!” The actual release will occur at a festive celebration at 8:00 PM, November 22 at Spaces Gallery, 2220 Superior Viaduct.

Under the leadership of Music Director, Richard Cole, the gentlemen of The North Coast Men’s Chorus have recorded a CD of holiday music that is destined to become one of Cleveland’s favorite holiday treasures. “Behold!” is the result of hundreds of devoted audience members and fans who have asked for, and given their financial support for the opportunity to enjoy their live performance experience beyond the walls of Waetjen Auditorium.

“Behold!” is also the result of literally thousands of hours of rehearsal, tuning, not a little drama, and the boundless energy of the nearly 100 men whose voices join together in this joyous and heartfelt celebration.

The release party will feature the first public playing of “Behold!” as well as a live performance preview of the Chorus’ up-coming holiday show, “Sugar Plum Fairies,” by members of the NCMC. The event will be catered by one of Cleveland’s finest chefs, Michelle Gaw, formerly of the Watermark. Tickets are priced at $25, $50, and $100 per person and are available online at www.ncmchorus.org or by calling 216.556.0590. Properly credentialed members of the media are welcome to attend as the guests of the North Coast Men’s Chorus. Please confirm your plans to attend by contacting Steve Louzos at sjlouzos at yahoo.com or 216.531.3156.

Perhaps the highest profile gay organization in Northeast Ohio; the North Coast Men’s Chorus is an all-volunteer organization. Founded in 1988, the NCMC is a community based musical organization which affirms the gay experience by presenting entertaining, quality performances for diverse audiences; providing a supportive environment for its members; and promoting a positive presence in the gay community and beyond.

Members of the Chorus represent the widest possible diversity: from doctors, lawyers, and bankers to service workers, and everything in between. The Chorus’ programming reflects the same level of diversity with singing, dancing, and comedy, through music from around the world. “BEHOLD!” will take the listener through an entire range of emotions. As one audience member noted about a live performance, “I laughed, giggled, squealed, clapped, stomped my feet, and cried at least twice. Your shows always bring out a range of emotions for me because of the music you choose; it represents life and its rainbow of experiences.” “BEHOLD!” captures the same diversity.
