Dear NEOhiopal Subscriber:

Over the past 11 years, a new tradition has emerged that's just as
treasured as the "Nutcracker" and other holiday events. And during a
period of history when the spirit of family and friendship is more
important than ever, there's no better way to share the spirit of
Christmas than with The Colors of Christmas 2003.=20

As a contemporary alternative to standard holiday events, The Colors of
Christmas is a new generation of holiday show. Earning high praise from
the press, the tour has been a big hit with audiences nationwide. It's
also becoming a seasonal centerpiece in many major cities across
America, growing in popularity each year.

Coming to The University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall in
Akron, Ohio, on Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m., The Colors of
Christmas is a concert for family, a concert for friends. The tour
spotlights a troupe of famed, award-winning performers who sing
cherished songs of the season, and hits from their individual
repertoires.=20

This year, the tour features headliners Peabo Bryson, Irene Cara,
Christopher Cross and Sheena Easton. (Please see attached bios and fact
sheets.) The diversity of material and impressive talents of these
singers promises a joyful holiday atmosphere and an enjoyable concert
performance.=20

Making this concert even more precious to Akron, The Colors of Christmas
troupe is accompanied by a full orchestra and The Chancel Choir from
Akron's Arlington Church of God.
Sponsored by White Hat Management, this is the fourth year that The
Colors of Christmas has appeared at E.J. Thomas Hall. Leslie Parker
Barnes, Minister of Praise and Worship at Arlington Church of God, says
this is also the choir's fourth year of performing with The Colors of
Christmas. The 40 choir members who will be featured consider this
concert one of their year's highlights, she says.
=20
"It's always a very special opportunity for us because our choir members
are so much a part of the city, and this is a significant coming
together of community for us," says Barnes. "It's just wonderful to come
together to share the Christmas story."
=20
In addition to performing "Happy Christmas," "Joy to the World," and
"Some Day at Christmas" with The Colors of Christmas troupe, the gospel
choir will be spotlighted singing "Hosanna," a brisk gospel rock tune.
=20
Decorated in true "Christmas Wonderland" style, the grand stage is
framed by two Christmas trees, and the set sparkles with hundreds of
points of light. In concert with the sonorous sounds of the full
orchestra and the soulful voices of Arlington Church of God's Chancel
Choir, The Colors of Christmas assures an unforgettable evening of
holiday song and spirit.=20
