Y ARTS FAIR
CLEVELAND---The Glenville YMCA in a partnership with
Glenville High School and the Arts and Culture Coalition (ACC) will
sponsor the Y ARTS FAIR. The program takes place on Saturday, November
29 from noon to 4 p.m. at the YMCA located at 11111 St. Clair Avenue.
The fair will showcase works of art of Glenville High School students
and other artists of the greater Cleveland area. A African dance
performance and workshop will be provided by African Soul under the
artistic direction of Sista Jewel Jackson. Award winning poetry, visual
arts, music and dramatic presentations will be provided by students and
adults. The Y ARTS FAIR is a continuum of events to highlight area
artists and to advance the aesthetic beauty of the arts in the Glenville
community. To become involved with the Arts and Culture Coalition email
the arts_culture_coalition at yahoogroups.com.
The ACC began in 2002 as a grassroots organization to support the
underserved artists in the Greater Cleveland area by promoting,
producing and providing access to educational and cultural art
institutions.
Artists and vendors of arts and crafts can contact the YMCA at
216-851-4700 for information and a schedule of events.
