"Mother Goose, or Harlequin and the Golden Egg" at Miller South School

If you've always wanted to see an authentic British panto but didn't
have the money to travel to England for the holidays, this is your
chance! Mother Goose, or Harlequin and the Golden Egg" will be
presented on December 5th at 9 AM and Saturday, December 6th at 7 PM at
Miller South School for the Visual & Performing Arts, 1055 East Ave.,
Akron, 44307. Tickets are $5.00 adults, and $3.00 for students and
Senior Citizens.

Going to the panto is a 300 year old holiday tradition in Britain. While
Americans may think of "pantomime" as silent acting by white-faced
mimes, the English know "pantomime" as a lively holiday treat involving
song, dance and comedy. Our production includes everything a panto is
noted for: slapstick comedy with Mother Goose played as a Dame role, a
wide range of musical styles and choreography, spectacular
transformations, and audience participation. This production also
includes a harlequinade created by the Miller South Commedia Dell'Arte
Troupe, featuring the exploits of Harlequin, Columbine, Pantaloon and Clown.

The production includes the talents of over 50 Miller South students and
is directed by Wendy S. Duke. Musical Direction by Sarah Kaufmann,
choreography by Karen Sly, with design and technical direction by Jack
Gwinn.

Call the school at 330-761-1765 for further information.
