Rumpelstiltskin is My Name
Brecksville Theater on the Square is proud to present this twist on the =
children's fairy tale. Directed by Jolene McPherson and Music Directed =
by Donna Box, this production is cast with children ages 7-14 from all =
over the area. =20

Rumpelstiltskin, that abominable peewee sorcerer, must possess an infant =
of royal birth because of a challenge from Griselda, a four hundred year =
old witch. Plotting and scheming, he spreads the word that the miller's =
daughter, Laura, can weave straw into gold. Because the country is =
bankrupt, she =EDs swept off to the palace and ordered to spin and spin. =
With Rumpelstiltskin's help she delivers the gold. But Laura has a high =
fee to pay. She must give Rumpelstiltskin her first-born child! When =
Laura marries the prince and produces an heir to the throne, she has =
twenty-four hours to guess the wizard's name or give her child up. The =
play ends hilariously when Griselda shows up and forces Rumpelstiltskin =
to pay for his failure.

Production dates are February 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 2004. Curtain is at =
7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings and there is a 2:00 p.m. =
matinee on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for =
children and seniors.

A special "Pop In with Rumpelstiltskin" will be offered prior to each of =
the Saturday shows at 12:30 p.m. Kids can enjoy "tea", finger sandwiches =
and desserts with Rumpelstiltskin and the rest of the characters. Photo =
and autograph opportunities abound! Great fun for kids of all ages. =
Tickets for the "Pop In" are just $5 with the purchase of a show ticket.
