Of Mice and Men
Upon it's opening on Broadway in 1937, the play won the Drama Critic Circle
Award for best drama. George, though small, is quick with words and a plan,
while his simple-minded friend Lennie is the gentle giant, ever devoted to
George. Frustrated with their loneliness and alienation, George and Lennie dream
of getting their own place and "living off the fat of the land" in the "dust
bowl" of the Great Depression. Their friendship, conflict and struggle make for
a truly great piece of theater that has been a thought-provoking experience
for generations of audiences.
