About the Director:=20

Thomas Cullinan is the producing director for Bad Epitaph Theatre =
Company, for whom he recently directed State of Siege by Albert Camus at =
Cleveland Public Theatre.  Tom has worked across the Midwest as an =
actor, director, and designer. This past fall, Tom was the Makeup Design =
Coordinator on CCC's production of Crazyface by Clive Barker.  =
Currently, Tom is an actor-teacher with Great Lakes Theater Festival.

About the Cast:

All of the cast members of this production are students at CCC West, =
except for Claire Zeleznik, who is the daughter of CCC English =
Professor, Theresa Zeleznik, who serves as dramaturge and Assistant =
Stage Manager for the production.

About the Play:

It's been said that Waiting for Godot is "the play where nothing happens =
- twice."   A masterpiece of existentialist theater, Beckett originally =
wrote the play in French in 1948.  Translated into English by Beckett =
himself, Godot, his most acclaimed work, explores relationships, the =
concept of salvation, and the meaning of life and death themselves.=20

This tragicomedy revolves around Vladimir and Estragon, two old friends =
who meet every evening at the same location, and it explores how they =
pass the time while they wait for Godot.   While waiting they attempt to =
entertain themselves, examining the nature of their own existence, the =
uncertainty of their future, and the intensity of their individual =
suffering.  It is from this last that the audience, ironically, derives =
its pleasure.  As Beckett himself said, "Nothing is funnier than =
unhappiness...it's the most comical thing in the world." =20

Director Thomas Cullinan brings a fresh interpretation to this dramatic =
classic by emphasizing the possibility of hope for "even the meanest of =
creatures," setting the play squarely in the vaudeville style, he, the =
cast, and company promise to provide a delightful way  to pass the time =
as we, the audience, wait for our own Godot.=20
