The Cleveland Play House Children's Theatre Opens
Musical Adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky
The next The Cleveland Play House 2003-2004 Children's Theatre Season
production is Kenneth Kacmar's clever musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll's
Jabberwocky. Featuring whimsical puppets, Jabberwocky runs in the Brooks
Theatre February 3 - 29, 2004. Appropriate for children K through 4 and
their families.
About the Play
For as long as he can remember, young Prince Xavier has heard tales of the
mysterious creature living in the Dark Wood. For ages, the enchanted
inhabitants of Mumblelot have lived in fear of this mythical beast. Armed
with only his sword and his need to prove himself a worthy prince, the
bumbling Prince journeys into the heart of the forest to slay the fearsome
Jabberwock. But what he discovers is a hoax. Instead of a fearsome
creature, he discovers the Jabberwock is timid and just wants to sleep. It
seems the Jabberwock and the Prince have much in common. Together they
hatch a plan to prove they are worthy of their royal lineage. Featuring
music and puppets from the author who brought us The Nutcracker and Once
Upon?The Brothers Grimm.
