Dear NEOhio Pals-

 I was one of the many voice over talent that invested in advertising 
with the National Talent Retriever (a.k.a. RecTech) owned by Doug Benns 
& Frank Labis at 30311 Clemmens Rd. Westlake, Ohio 44145.  Unfortunately 
it appears that this was a scam or, at best, an unsuccessful endeavor 
for Doug and his staff even though the company came recommended by a 
prominent broadcaster.

The CD Rom that was supposed to launch last October was NOT launched,  
their phone has been disconnected and no one is returning my emails.  I 
spoke to a few other talent who have not heard from them in months 
either and one talent who was charged twice on his credit card. 

If you paid by credit card you should inquire about recouping your funds 
through the card company, since they have that sort of protection in 
place for customers.  SInce  I paid by check, my bank advised me to file 
a complaint with the Westlake Police.   Either way,  I suggest that you 
do the same.   The more people that come forward the better chance we 
have of affective action.

If you have any information to the contrary, please let me know, but my 
further research about Doug revealed even more evidence that he is a 
fraud, and until I can see evidence to the contrary, I am following 
through with police action.  I called Westlake Police Dept and they said 
to bring all the documentation that I had ie: cancelled check, 
contracts, applications, letters, emails etc.

and look at the subheadings  "Civil Case Docket" & Criminal Case Docket"
