Purify the Mic is a Spoken Music production open to all poets, singers, rappers, creative artists, fellow connoisseurs and enthusiastic listeners who appreciate the gifts. Purify the Mic ‘s setting is very relaxed and down to earth— a place where individuals can commune with one another and feel comfortable enough to express themselves. While we strongly encourage freedom of speech, we prohibit profanity and any racial, sexual, or gender offensive material. In turn, we follow up the open mic with a featured artist(s) who through creative _expression. (I.e. poetry, rap, song, drama) encourage, edify and empower the audience with their compositions concerning the King. No not Elvis. The Lord Jesus Christ —the King of Kings! 

*Fifty percent of the proceeds will benefit the Renee Jones Empowerment Center’s arts and theater programs and services. The Renee Jones Empowerment Center is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that provides opportunities for personal and professional growth for the disadvantaged and the disempowered.
