Kalliope Stage enjoyed a gala opening weekend with sold-out=20
performances and a very special Grand Night of Hope. Kalliope Stage is=20=

the new professional musical theater at Cedar & Lee in Cleveland=20
Heights. The theater has launched its inaugural season with Rodgers and=20=

Hammerstein=92s A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING, an evening fantasy of =
gorgeous=20
music from classic favorites to little-known gems. =93We wanted to start=20=

with the fathers of the modern American musical,=94 says Paul F. Gurgol,=20=

the artistic director of Kalliope Stage. His inventive re-imagining, a=20=

lush double piano orchestration, and a strong cast of nuanced singers=20
make for a delightful theatrical debut.

Mayor Ed Kelly and Cleveland Heights city counsel members were on hand=20=

opening night for the official ribbon cutting. Creating the theater has=20=

been a labor of love for founders John Paul Boukis and Paul F. Gurgol,=20=

and they hope the community will embrace their mission of celebrating=20
the musical as a valued American art form. Kalliope Stage is committed=20=

to building community through performance, and is excited to have=20
produced a Grand Night of Hope as a 100% benefit for the Mitochondrial=20=

Disease Association of Ohio. The evening gala performance raised=20
$7,000, and warmed the hearts of everyone involved.

A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING plays Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm=20=

and Sundays at 2:30pm and 7pm through Sunday, April 4. Reserve tickets=20=

by calling 216-321-0870.=20=
