            Lakewood, Ohio - The Beck Center is proud to bring the best
of Broadway to Lakewood as we present an incredible evening with one of
Broadway's leading ladies and hometown Lakewood girl, Dee Hoty,
accompanied by Broadway musical theater director Jack Lee.  Dee and Jack
will perform, for one night only, on Saturday, May 8 at 8:00 p.m.  The
spectacular event will benefit the Beck Center for the Arts Department
of Education, which offers curriculum-based, progressive programming in
dance, music, theater and visual arts for children, teens and adults.
Proceeds also benefit the Lakewood Public Schools Alumni Foundation.
Dee Hoty began her theatrical career 36 years ago at Lakewood High
School.  After graduating from Otterbein College in 1974, she
apprenticed at The Cleveland Playhouse.  Dee made her Broadway debut in
1980 in a short-lived revival of The 5 O'Clock Girl. =20
Since then, she has distinguished herself as one of Broadway's most
highly regarded leading ladies, with more than 30 theater, television
and film credits to her name. =20
Her film and television credits include Co-narrator of TBS's Untold
West, Harry and Walter Go to New York, Models, Inc., St. Elsewhere,
Spencer for Hire, The Equalizer and recurring roles on Capital, Ryan's
Hope, Guiding Light and As the World Turns.  Dee's recent turn as
Phyllis in the celebrated Paper Mill Playhouse revival of Stephen
Sondheim's Follies can be heard on CD.  Dee can also be seen on the PBS
Home Video My Favorite Broadway:  The Leading Ladies.
Dee has starred in Broadway's Footloose, Will Rogers Follies and City of
Angels.  She has been nominated for three Tony Awards for Best Actress
in a Musical for her performances in The Best Little Whorehouse Goes
Public, Will Rogers Follies and Footloose.  Dee is currently starring on
Broadway in the smash hit Mamma Mia. =20

Jack Lee is one of the most respected musical directors in theater
today.  Originally from Cleveland, Jack has conducted numerous Broadway
shows, as well as national and international tours.  He has worked with
Tommy Tune on Broadway, with Debbie Reynolds, Peter Palmer, Jane Powell
and Juliet Prowse, and with Shirley MacLaine in Postcards from the Edge.
Jack is a contributing staff member of New York University and Carnegie
Mellon University.  He is a frequent guest instructor and master class
teacher at his alma mater, Baldwin Wallace, and was the subject of an
Emmy award winning PBS documentary on his life and work. =20
            The Beck Center for the Arts is proud to bring Dee Hoty and
Jack Lee to the Main Stage for this one night only musical extravaganza.
Benefactor tickets are available for $150 and include cocktails and hors
d'oeuvres at 6:45 p.m., preferred seating for the show, followed by a

            As part of this exciting evening, The Beck Center will
raffle off a "Weekend On Broadway" package that will include round trip
