CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE ANNOUNCES
Tenth Annual Silent Art Auction
Saturday, April 17, 2004
Upstairs Theatre

CLEVELAND, OH - Executive Director James Levin, Artistic Director Randy
Rollison, and the Board and Staff of Cleveland Public Theatre are proud to
announce the Tenth Annual Silent Art Auction on Saturday, April 17, 2004,
beginning with a Martini Lounge Preview Party at 6:30 p.m. This annual
event provides supporters of the performing arts, art collectors, and art
enthusiasts an opportunity to indulge their passion. Patrons can purchase
selected artwork from Cleveland’s finest artists, while helping to support
Cleveland Public Theatre. The benefit returns this year in CPT’s Upstairs
Theatre, located at 6415 Detroit Avenue on the Near West side of Cleveland.
Featured artists include Anna Arnold, Michelle Droll, Derek Hess, George
Kocar, Terry Michelle, Ben Parsons, Scott Radke, Barney Taxel, and Reverand
Albert Wagner, among many others. A wide variety of works will be
available, including paintings, photographs, prints, sculpture, ceramics,
glasswork, jewelry, and more.

The Martini Lounge Preview Party, prior to the auction, is held from 6:30
p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The party features an open bar with complementary special
recipe martinis by Moda Night Club and a sumptuous food bar. Admission is
$40 ($30 tax deductible). The party offers a first glimpse at this year’s
art, a conversation with the artists, and an exclusive mini-auction and
special musical performance by The Aphrodesiatics (Winners of The Free Times
2004 Music Award for Best Hip Hop/R&B/Funk artists). Free parking is
available adjacent to the theatre and at W. 61st Street (north and south of
Detroit).

Registration and bidding for the silent auction begins at 8:00 p.m. on
Saturday, April 17. Admission for this portion of the evening is $10. A
cash bar and hors d’oeuvres are provided, in addition to entertainment by
The Aphrodesiatics. Artistic Director Randy Rollison describes the auction
as “a great way for the visual arts and theatre to come together. This is
an eclectic mix of works.”

Proceeds from the Tenth Annual Art Auction provide crucial operating support
for CPT.
