WAY OFF BROADWAY, the first feature film of director Daniel Kay, opens Friday, April 23rd, at Shaker Square Cinemas.

On Wednesday, April 21st, Mr. Kay will attend a screening of his film at Shaker Square, which will feature a Q&A with the director immediately afterwards.

A limited number of passes are being made available to NEOPal subscribers looking for insight into the worlds of New York theater, independent film, and the realities of artistic success.

WAY OFF BROADWAY, distributed by Small Planet Pictures, has played over 20 film festivals, winning numerous awards, including the Audience Choice at the Texas Film Festival. Director Daniel Kay’s theatrical directing credits include Sam Shephard’s BURIED CHILD (Studio Theater) and Pinter’s BETRAYAL (Rathskellar Theater).

The film tells the story of five friends who, frustrated by the juxtaposition of being successful artists on the university level to poor struggling artists in New York City, take a crash course in life as they explore the dynamic of conflict in friendship involving love, sex, failure and betrayal.

The cast of WAY OFF BROADWAY features Morena Baccarin, last seen in ROGER DODGER, and Jordan Gelber, who has recently made it ON Broadway, starring as the unemployed 33-year old Brian in AVENUE Q.

If you are interested in attending this event, please send an email to jruffner at clevelandcinemas.com no later than Sunday, April 18th. Be sure to include an address to which a pass may be sent. Each pass is good for two free admissions. Due to potential overbooking, your pass cannot guarantee you a seat—it is recommended that you arrive early in order to ensure admission. Time of screening will be indicated on the pass.
