ABOUT THE PLAY: Ragtime, the musical=C2=A0 is a Tony-award winning musical b=

on E. L. Doctorow's best-selling novel by the same name, is an epic musical=20
that paints a powerful portrait of American life through three remarkable=20
families: one upper middle class white, one socialist immigrant Jewish, and=20=
one=20
Harlem black. The plot intertwines three distinct stories that poignantly=20
illustrate history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom=20=
and=20
prejudice, hope and despair, and love and hate.

As the fictional characters embark on personal voyages of self-discovery=20
their lives become dramatically entangled with real-life characters such as=20=
Henry=20
Ford, Emma Goldman, Booker T. Washington, Harry Houdini, and Evelyn Nesbit.=20
Ragtime is a richly colored tapestry of tragedy, triumph, desire,=20
disillusionment, passion, and romance set against a backdrop of early Twenti=
