"Performing in a vaudevillian style including song, dance, storytelling,
hand-painted slides and shadow-puppets, Tannis Kowalchuk and Leese Walker
could be serving fairy tales to the kiddies, but their intent is far more
poignant and appreciated." -Village Voice

"Maybe you have heard of Tannis Kowalchuk and Leese Walker? Their
performance, entitled 10 Brecht Poems, lasts about forty-five minutes and I
found it highly attractive. Theirs is an original and rather unorthodox
choice of Brecht poems, ranging from a poem about Brecht's new car, to
selections from the War Primer, to the powerful Liturgy of Breath. The two
actors perform with a lot of zest. There is much singing, the voices are
beautifully matched. There are surprising visual effects, there is dancing,
this is a very physical performance. The political tendency of the evening,
especially its anti-war message, is brought out with surprising lightness,
the parallels to current events are left to the spectators. In short, I
would like to recommend this talented and lively duo to anyone who knows or
would like to know Brecht's work."
-Professor Robert Cohen, German Department, New York University

Produced by NaCl and Strike Anywhere, with help from a grant from the Puffin
Foundation. This run is a presentation with the good people at The Brecht
Forum.
