Performing Arts Education Programs in Residence
At Weathervane Playhouse

Weathervane Playhouse announces the H.O.T. (Hands on Theatre) Summer=20
workshops and classes for children ages 4 -18. Classes in performance, vocal=
 music and=20
dance and audition techniques begin the week of June 7 -  August 15, 2004. =20
Classes meet weekdays at Weathervane Playhouse. Weathervane's Summer session=
 is=20
the first stage of our comprehensive 2004-2005 Education program.  The=20
students have a wide choice of theatre education classes to choose from and=20=
the=20
sessions will all be taught by working theatre professionals from Northeast=20=
Ohio.=20
Parents are raving about the experiences their children are having, " =E2=

daughter loved the class, the teacher and the friends she made. She can't wa=

Hands On Theatre
Weathervane's summer workshops are Hands On Theatre and fun!
This summer we offer three sessions of Weathervane's Hands On Theater
program for young people ages 6 -12 in our new state-of-the-art education
facility. In a comprehensive theater- training program led by theatre
professionals, students will learn all about acting, improvisation, stage
directions, auditioning, and more. Spaces are limited.
Classes meet: Monday - Friday 10 am - 2 pm   Cost: $260.00 for each session

H.O.T. Session One
6 to 8 year-olds        Monday, June 14- Friday, June 25, 2004

H.O.T. Session Two
8 to 10 year-olds       Monday, June 28 - Friday, July 9, 2004 (No class Jul=

One-Week Theatre Workshops

Pre-school Playhouse
Session for 4 and 5 year olds. Students will discover the joy of creating a=20
theatrical experience through theatre games, storytelling, and creative dram=

4- and 5- year-olds      June 7-11, 2004    10:00 am - 12:00 pm    Cost:=20

Audition Workshop=20
This workshop is designed for students age 13 and older. Students will creat=
e=20
their own "audition packages" including the preparation of a resume and how=20
to maximize the effect of an audition.
Three contrasting, two-minute monologues are required for the first class.
July 26 - 30, 2004  9:00 am - 12:00 pm    Cost: $110.00 =20

Musical Theater Workshop
This workshop is custom-designed to meet the individual needs of students=20
ages 9 -12. Theater training in voice dance and sight-reading allows student=
s to=20
advance at their own pace.

Weathervane's Premiere Theatre Education Program
Summer Stock for Teens =20
This theatre workshop is designed for students, ages 14 & older that have=20
already had some theatrical experience on stage or behind the scenes. This=20
workshop is a theatre performance lab.  Students accepted into this intense=20
theatre-training program form their own production company, under the superv=
ision of a=20
director, for the purpose of producing and presenting their own independent=20
production. There will be two public performances  of William Mastrosiome's=20
play about school violence, Bang, Bang, You're Dead on August 13&14, 2004, =20=
on=20
the mainstage of Weathervane Playhouse.
Directed/Taught by Sean McConaha, Weathervane's Director of Education.
Space is limited to 18 acting and 4 technical positions.

Monday - Friday, August 2 -14, 2004 Time: 10:00 - 4:00 pm Cost: $300   =20

All classes will be held at Weathervane Community Playhouse

Nearly 12,000 students and their families participated in Weatheravne theatr=
