Windsong: Cleveland's Feminist Chorus under the direction of Sharon Marrell,
will present a special Spring Concert featuring Diane Benjamin's Where I
Live: A Breast Cancer Oratorio, on Saturday, May 22, 2004. The program, will
begin at 8:00 PM in Kulas Hall at the Cleveland Institute of Music, 11021
East Boulevard, in Cleveland's University Circle. Net proceeds from the
event will benefit local breast cancer support organizations. Tickets, at
$15 for general admission and $25 and $40 for reserved seating, may be
purchased from the chorus or at several outlets in the Cleveland area. A
portion of the $40 ticket is tax deductible.

The concert will be followed by a reception sponsored by the North Coast
Men's Chorus. Breast cancer groups will staff information tables before and
after the concert.

Commissioned for the Denver Women's Chorus in 1999, Where I Live by Diane
Benjamin will have its Northeast Ohio premiere May 22, after having raised
money for, and awareness about, breast cancer throughout the U.S. This local
event will benefit local breast cancer organizations: the Northern Ohio
Breast Cancer Coalition Fund and Minority Women with Breast Cancer Uniting.
These organizations help people who have breast cancer to improve access to
information, high-quality health care, medication, and emotional support,
and they work to increase funding for high-quality breast cancer research.

The 35-minute oratorio will be performed by Windsong members joined by
visiting singers from Chicago, accompanied by piano, a string ensemble, and
percussion. Cleveland actors will present spoken narratives. All singers and
actors are donating their time and talent to this production.

The concert will also feature other music ranging in style from playful to
sentimental, including the delicious "Bittersweet Tango" by Eric Lane
Barnes, Bobby McFerrin's "23rd Psalm," the popular "I Hope You Dance" by
Sanders and Sillers, and Linda Spevacek's foot-tapping "Danza!"

Tickets may be obtained at the door or purchased in advance from any
Windsong member, at ticket outlets, or by mail at P.O. Box 609534,
Cleveland, Ohio 44109-0534. Ticket outlets include High Tide/Rock Bottom,
Diverse Universe, Body Language, Loganberry Books, and the Allen Medical
Library of Case Western Reserve University.
