	LEND ME A TENOR OPENS AT SOLON ARTS CENTER

	The hilariously funny play, Lend Me A Tenor, opens at Solon Center =
for the Arts on Friday,=20
May 14 (curtain at 7:30 pm) with a special Senior Preview on Thursday, May =
13 (curtain at 7:00 pm).  Playwright Ken Ludwig won several awards for =
this show including two Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards, three Outer =
Critics Circle Awards and the Olivier Award as =93Comedy of the Year=94 in =
1986.=20

	SCA=92s production is directed by Solon favorite Barbara Rhoades.  =
The set design is by Mark Kobac and construction by Tony Kovacic, both =
well-known Cleveland theater professionals.  The cast includes Jim =
Marzullo (Max), Sarah Benton (Maggie), Bill Meyers (Saunders), Ken Allan =
(Tito), Vonnie Pilarczyk (Maria), Robb Muzzy (Bellhop), Marcia Mandell =
(Julia), and Susan Spitz Hennenberg (Diana).

	The story revolves around the Cleveland Grand Opera Company=92s =
announcement of the opening gala performance with Tito Merelli singing the =
role of Otello.  But the world-famous tenor is dead!  Or is he really?  =
The show must go on.  And it does, with a series of mistaken identities, =
wacky actors and many surprises. =20

	A special treat for theater-goers at the Preview and Opening Night =
is the chance to experience 2 new exhibits in the gallery before and after =
the show.  The Western Reserve Artist Association Spring Exhibit includes =
a variety of art forms including painting, drawing, sculpture, metal and =
mixed-media.  All works are for sale and will be on display through July =
10th.

	Solon Beautification Then and Now=851967-2004 will be exhibited =
for one week only from May 11 through May 15. On display will be photos =
and documentation of recent accomplishments and projects of the current =
Solon Beautification Commission chaired by Carol Daniloff, and  numerous =
scrapbooks and awards from years past to the Solon Committee for Refreshing=
 Urban Beautification (SCRUB) founded by John Kurpell, former Solon =
Councilman, and his wife Lucy.  =09

	Ticket prices for =93Lend Me A Tenor=94 are $10 for adults and $8 =
for seniors and students. The Thursday Senior Preview ticket price is $3. =
Other performance dates are Fridays and Saturdays, May 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 =
and 29 at 7:30 pm.  There are two Sunday matinees on May 16 and 23 at 2:00 =
pm.
