In DIRTY STORY, aspiring novelist Wanda asks successful writer
Brutus for advice and gets more than she bargains for as he criticizes
her manuscript. They wind up sharing an apartment as the=20
discussions of writing and an old film continue. During a dispute,
Wanda's pistol-toting cowboy ex-boyfriend, Frank, bursts in to break up
the party . Wanda declares "Call me Israel!", and we find ourselves in =
the middle of a clever political allegory. Frank and his British =
bartender sidekick, Watson's characters bear a striking resemblance to =
George Bush and Tony Blair. And Brutus and Wanda's dispute looks a lot =
like a certain Middle East conflict. Can Frank and Watson resolve the =
crisis, do they have any business trying? Cowboy Frank believes he has =
the solution: "Be like me. Do like I do." Comedy explodes in this =
finely crafted play by the Oscar winning author of 'Moonstruck'. This =
premier is "must see theater" this election year!!

Opening night, June 11th (and friday June 25th) features a post play =
discussion with
the actors Doug Rossi, Marlene Kelly, Geoff Griggs, Mike Kelly & =
director Steve Ritchey. June 12th features a tasty rib dinner at 7:00 =
pm (call now!)=20

SIX GUYS ENTER A BAR -- stand-up & sketch comedy fridays: July 2 & =
Aug. 6th

VITAL SIGNS by Jane Martin

Performance dates: Fridays and Saturdays, July 9th-24th
directed by Yvonne Pilarczyk
 =20
>From the author(s?) of Criminal Hearts (August 1995) and=20
Talking With! This production is an unusual compilation
of 2 dozen 1 person scenes: most are hilarious, some=20
intense, but all thought provoking and captivating. Together
they create a collage about modern woman in all her
warmth and majesty, her fear and frustration, her joy and sadness.
"Martin's eye and ear for the texture of everyday life in this culture
is as playfully accurate as Lily Tomlin's... she manages, too, to
open windows into women's souls." DETROIT NEWS

CAMPING WITH HENRY & TOM by Mark St. Germain=20

Performance dates: Fridays and Saturdays, Aug. 13th - 28th
To be directed by Barbara Rhoades.

In CAMPING WITH HENRY AND TOM, Warren Harding joins
Henry Ford and Thomas Edison on their annual camping trip in
the Maryland woods. But when Henry's Model T hits a deer, the
three are stranded and a clash of egos, minds, and hearts ensues.
They wanted to escape civilization, but now they can't escape each
other! History gives way to plausible fiction in this dramatic and
comedic exploration of friendship, leadership, and politics.
Delightful, quintessential American fiction!

The Mapleleaf Theater is a non-profit, semi-professional theater
based during the summer at Harpersfield Vineyard near Madison OH.
The performances are in an intimate cafe style setting.
It's the only theater at a working vineyard in the United States.
In its 22nd season, the theater specializes in off-beat,
unusual, and new works by American playwrights.
