THE FAIRMOUNT SPECTACULAR SUMMER DANCE SERIES
Beginning June 14th 2004 the Fairmount School of Dance will open its doors
for its spectacular summer studies. This summer session will offer a
variety of styles and techniques including:
Hip-Hop
Spanish Dance
Ballet
Pointe
Jazz
Tap
Modern
Choreography
All are welcome! We have classes for any age, level, and ability. Class
size is limited, so enroll today.
Leading this spectacular summer will be Libby Lubinger, the Director of The
Fairmount School of Dance. Libby is the founder and artistic director of
the Fairmount Spanish Dancers and has taught with Fairmount since 1971. She
has held residencies at Notre Dame College, Lake Erie College, The Beck
Center, Cleveland Public Schools, and the Ohio Dance Association. Her years
of experience and expertise can guide students through beginning stages of
Spanish Dance up to a professional level.
Also taking center stage for the summer session will be the Fairmount Dance
Theatre, the hottest new training ground for aspiring dancers ages 4-18 in
Northeast Ohio. FDT's curriculm includes Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip-Hop,
Tap, and Contemporary Dance. FDT is under the direction of Tennille Craig
and Melissa Gruca; two professional dancers involved in the Cleveland dance
scene. Both professionals have studied dance across the US, studying with
the Joffrey Ballet (NYC), the Debbie Reynolds Dance School (L.A.), Laurie
Eisenhower of Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, Daniel Furlong of the San Francisco
Opera, Universtiy of Akron, the Alma College Dance Company, Cleveland
Contemporary Dance Theatre, and Antaeus Dance.
These two energizing performers bring enthusiasm, funk, positive
reinforcement, and refined technique to the classroom. Their wide range of
styles and knowledge creates well rounded performers. Tennille and Melissa
pride themselves in instilling their dancers with confidence,
professionalism, and grace. Involvement in FDT does not stop with the
classroom. Students have the chance to perform in festivals, parades, dance
conventions, and field trips across Northeast Ohio. FDT also extends their
arms to the community by participating in fundraisers and community outreach
projects.
Rounding off the Fairmount School of Dance Summer Session will be our
traditional children, teen, and adult dance classes. Classes range in
level, ability, and style. Classes will be taught by our engaging faculty
including Libby Lubinger of the Fairmount Spanish Dancers, Tennille Craig
and Melissa Gruca of Fairmount Dance Theatre, Meghan Haas, and Kathleen
