NEAR WEST THEATRE is looking to hire an experience=20
Stage Manager for its upcoming musical production of Stephen Sondheim's=20
ANYONE CAN WHISTLE.

Individual must enjoy and have experience working with teens as this is an=20
all-teen musical, approximately 40 in the cast. Rehearsals start Sunday, Jun=
e=20
13th and the show opens July 23 and runs for three weekends thru Aug 8th.
Nine performances total.  Rehearsal days are Sundays through Wednesdays,=20
mostly evening hours.  Very competitive salary.  Job description below.

JOB DESCRIPTION

(NOTE: General Auditions are already completed.

AUDITIONS AND CASTING
-   Management of logistics of the audition=E2=80=A6space preparation
-   Preparation of a  PRODUCTION GENERAL INFORMATION SHEET
                 Containing info about general rehearsal schedule, Tech/Dres=
s=20
week,
                 Show performances dates and times etc.
-   Preparation of audition forms, their distribution, collection, copies to=
=20
production
                 Staff as needed and filing.
-   Assistance to the Director in running of auditions: people moving,=20
handing out script cuttings, song lyrics etc
-   The photographing/video taping of new auditionees
-   The opening and closing of theater building
-   Storage of equipment needed for auditions
-   Preparation and mailing of the letters informing auditionees of casting=20
results

REHEARSALS
-   Contact sheets for all production staff and cast/crew members
-   Distribution of contact sheets to all all staff members
-   Script and music management   (copies, distribution, filing etc)
-   Waiver forms, distribution and collection
-   Scheduling/communications to production departments (director, designers=
,=20
tech shop)
-   Distribution and communication of NWT Guidelines and Policies
-   Record keeping of  cast attendance/lateness etc
-   Supervision and recording of actions taken for infringement of NWT=20
Policies and Guildelines
-   Administrative support for Director
-   Ground plan taped
-   Rehearsal furniture and props, gathered and placed for scene work
-   Prompting=20
-   Keeping Prompt book  (blocking, stage business, prop/furniture placement=
,=20
all actor/light/sound/set cues)
-   Glow taping of set/furniture/platforms/steps etc especially those things=
=20
that might be dangerous to actors and crew and audience in the dark
-   Set and prop running plan
-   Knowing and managing emergency plans    first aid kit    blackouts   fir=
e=20
etc
-   Recruiting and scheduling props, set, costume and light crews where=20
appropriate
-   Training and supervision of all tech crews

PERFORMANCES
-   Opening and closes the theater building
-   Actor/crew/staff/musician call sheet
-   Planning around actors and crew members late or absent for performance
-   Ensure all tech checks have happened   (lights, sound, fog, special fxs=20
etc)
-   Call cues
-   Supervise all crew chiefs
-   Fix or communicate repair needs to Tech Dir or appropriate production=20
staff member  (set pieces, furniture, costumes etc)

THE STRIKE
-   Draw up and execute a strike plan with the Tech Director
-   Copy all music, orch parts, scripts etc for filing
-   Determine with Director/Artistic Dir/Tech Dir which props, set pieces=20
will be kept for possible BENEFIT USE.
