The Fan opens Friday, July 9 and runs July 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18 at
7pm in CCC West's outdoor amphitheatre.  The Fan is a hilarious romp of
love, deception and misdirection!  Bring a picnic and enjoy a cool
summer evening with the McGonagle Players who will be bringing their
pageant wagon back to the CCC West Amphitheatre for the third straight
year.  Don't miss 'em!

About the Director:  Arthur Grothe holds a B.A. in Communications and
Theater Arts and English from Heidelberg College, and an M.F.A. in
Acting from The University of Florida.  He has previously directed
Recipes at the Star Theater in Upper Sandusky, Helen at Risk and Conjure
Game at Heidelberg College, and I'm Dreaming.  But am I? at The
University of Florida.  He most recently served as Assistant Director
for Amy's View at Dobama Theater and Crazyface at CCC West. =20

About the play:  The Fan was written by Carlo Goldoni (1707-1793).  =20

The Fan is a crossover piece between Commedia del'Arte and Comedy of
Manners.  The action of the play revolves around the gift of a fan.  But
just like life today, many onlookers see the gift, form their own
opinions and begin to gossip about the giver's and receiver's
intentions.  What ensues is a comic romp that follows the fan, its
several owners, and the gossipers many interpretations.  All ends up
well in the end as the fan finds its rightful home.=20

Location:  Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus Amphitheatre
