Dear Colleagues:

After nearly 6 years of service, I will be stepping down from my position as
Director of Music at Zion United Church of Christ, on W.14th street in
Tremont. I'll be leaving the position in preperation for my move to NYC, which I have
been planning for several years and am finally embarking on in the nearing
months. My resignation takes effect approx. 9/1.

Therefore, Zion UCC is seeking a part-time Director of Music. Duties will
include the direction of a small choir, assisting pastoral staff in the selection
of music, and playing one weekly sunday (10:30 am) service. The ideal
candidate will be a strong keyboardist (organ experience a plus, but not necessary),
and will have a strong background/interest in Choral Music Education. The
ideal candidate will possess or be working towards a Bachelor's (or greater)
degree in Music or equivalent experience. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for a
first time director to build skills in a challenging, yet rewarding environment.

Total time committment in a non-holiday week will average approx. 5 contact
hours per week (1 weekday choir rehearsal + sunday service).

Starting salary for this position is $5200/year ($100/week, 4 weeks paid
vacation/year).

*STUDENTS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY*

Zion is a small but thriving church community, witnessing great growth in
recent years. The last several years have seen the renovation of our beautiful
and accoustically unique sanctuary, as well as the inception of several
community based programs including a drop-in center and hot meals for the homeless,
and of particular interest, the inception of a popular Concert and Recital
series. The series has featured performances by both locally and nationally
reknowned artists. The music director will have opportunity to work as a producer of
this series if they so choose.

Please respond to this email with a letter of intent and resume with
references. You may also address any questions to this email address. No phone
inquiries at this time, please.
