As the concluding performance of the 2004 Season, Lyric Opera Cleveland
is proud to present the ARTIST APPRENTICE SHOWCASE at the Cleveland
Museum of Natural History next Wednesday, August 4 at 7:00pm.

This concert, directed by Jonathon Field, will feature Lyric's
apprentice singers in performances of staged scenes from many popular
operas, including CARMEN, RIGOLETTO, DON GIOVANNI and LA TRAVIATA.
Catch these young singers as they begin promising careers on operatic
stages throughout the country and the world!

Tickets are available at the door for $15. Admission is free for Lyric
Opera Cleveland subscribers. For more information, call 216-685-5976.

As part of its commitment to developing new talent, Lyric Opera
Cleveland administers the "Artist Apprentice Program" as part of the
mainstage summer season of productions. Singers from conservatories
throughout the country audition each year to participate, and only nine
are selected. While with Lyric, apprentices understudy solo roles, and
sing supporting roles and in the chorus of each mainstage production,
while attending master classes in voice, movement, acting, stage combat,
and other career-development skills.

The apprentice program is directed by Jonathon Field, Lyric Opera
Cleveland artistic director, and George Vassos, head of the voice
faculty for the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Please join us to help celebrate the conclusion of yet another
successful season at Lyric Opera Cleveland!
