Fine Arts Association Announces Auditions for A Streetcar Named Desire
The Fine Arts Association, 38660 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby announces
auditions for A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams
Director: Russ Borski
The Story: The play reveals to the very depths, the character of Blanche
DuBois, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions.
These illusions lead her to reject-so far as possible-the realities of life
with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores. The pressure
brought to bear upon her by her sister Stella, with whom she goes to live in
New Orleans, intensified by Stanley, Stella's earthy young husband, leads to
a revelation of her tragic self-delusion and in the end to madness.
Roles: 6 women/early 20's and up; 6 men/early 20's and up. There are
several small non-speaking roles also available.
Audition dates: Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 7:00 pm.
Callbacks-Wednesday, August 18, 7:00 pm
Audition location: The Corning Auditorium at The Fine Arts Association,
38660 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby.
Preparation: Actors should come prepared with a Modern American Realism
monologue no longer than 3 minutes. (You may also have an optional second
contrasting piece, which may be heard at the discretion of the director.)
Appointments Required.
For appointments and questions regarding the auditions themselves: Call Ann

Performance dates: October 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 & 23, 2004 at 8:00 pm. October
10, 17 & 24 at 3:00 pm.
