Dear NEohioPAL subscribers ~

If Arlo Guthrie were to invite folks to an event celebrating the 35th =
anniversary of Woodstock, he might just sing, "You can wear anything you =
want...."=20

As headliner for the "Easy Rider" festival at Lock 3 Live! park on =
Saturday, August 14-along with Woodstock alumni John Sebastian and =
Melanie-Guthrie suggests that festival attendees wear tie-dyes, =
bell-bottoms, and love beads, because the event includes costume and =
trivia contests, among other activities.=20

Adults can have their bodies painted with temporary tattoos, while kids =
can enjoy face-painting, tie-dye and jewelry making activities. Weather =
permitting, a motorcycle show sponsored by Liberty-Harley Davidson and =
Akron H.O.G will showcase the two-wheelers of any easy rider that wants =
to register his or her motorcycle. Registrations will be accepted =
between noon and 2 p.m. on the day of the festival. There is a cash-only =
registration fee of $10. For each of the 12 classifications in the =
Motorcycle Show, one first-place and two runners-up awards will be =
presented, along with a "People's Choice" award, based on spectator =
voting.

A biker fashion show will feature stylish attire for cyclists, and an =
actual biker's wedding will celebrate the nuptials of a couple who share =
a liking for biking.=20

Hippies from all generations can groove to the music of Guthrie, =
Sebastian, Melanie, and other live bands such as local musicians Anne E. =
DeChant and Benjamin Payne. Whether you were at Woodstock or not, you =
will enjoy (and remember!) the Easy Rider Festival celebrating the 35th =
Anniversary of Woodstock. The festival runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on =
Saturday, August 14 at Lock 3 Live! Park and FirstEnergy Stage - located =
on Main Street in downtown Akron, next to the Akron Civic Theatre.

A $10 admission charge to the festival includes all concerts and =
entertainment associated with this event, along with the motorcycle =
show, bike fashion show, and biker wedding. Tokens will be sold for the =
inflatable rides for children, but admission to the festival is free for =
children under 48 inches. If you bring a canned food item to Lock 3 park =
to benefit the Akron/Canton Food Bank, you can buy one ticket at full =
price and get the second ticket for half price.=20
Cash-only tickets are sold at the Lock 3 Live! gates 30 minutes before =
show time. For advance tickets, call the Akron Civic Theatre Box Office =
at 330.253.2488 between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. =
Tickets are also available at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall Ticket =
Office at 330.972.7570, or through Ticketmaster Centers or =
Charge-By-Phone at 330.945.9400.=20

outdoor setting in which to shop, experience and enjoy, every Saturday =
