The  School of Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre is proud to introduce it=

new  pre-professional contemporary dance program for students ages 14 =E2=
=80=9324 yrs

The  Pre-Professional Program of SCCDT is designed to help provide serious=20
students  of contemporary dance excel in their pursuit of dance as a career=20=
with=20
a focused  curriculum of classes preparing them for entry into college dance=
=20
programs,  conservatories, professional companies and beyond.  This program=20
includes a professional  summer apprenticeship with the Cleveland Contempora=
ry=20
Dance Theatre.  Only 10 students will be accepted  into this program this ye=
ar.=20
Interviews  for consideration into the program will take place between =20
August  23 - September 3.  Call SCCDT to set up an interview  at 216.791.900=

At the  end of each semester students are evaluated by a jury of their=20
instructors  culminating at the end of the year with a recommendation to the=
=20
artistic  director for a summer apprentice position. =20
Poor  attendance, tardiness and unsatisfactory progress in technique or=20
attitude are  grounds for a negative nomination.  2 negative nominations wit=
hin a=20
semester will result in probationary  actions.  Probationary actions  result=
 in=20
a conference with the artistic director and potential removal from the =20
program.=20
For  maximum benefits of the program students are required to complete all=20
three  semesters.  =20

2 modern  (1 Horton and 1 Graham), 1 ballet, 1 elective (African, Hip-Hop or=

Pilates),  Repertory=20
Dress  Code:=20
Females  =E2=80=93 Red Spaghetti strapped leotard, black tights (worn over l=

black canvas  ballet slippers.  Hair must  always be styled away from the fa=
ce=20
in a bun in  applicable.=20
Males =E2=80=93  Red capped sleeved leotard, black tights, black dance belt,=
 black=20
canvas ballet  slippers. Hair must always be styled away from the face and=20
neatly  cut.  No braids or facial hair,  period.=20
