Bad Epitaph Theater Company continues its five year dedication to
contemporary interpretation of classic works with THE TRAGEDY OF OTHELLO,
THE MOOR OF VENICE opening October 1, 2004 at Orthodox, 6203 Detroit Avenue
in Cleveland.

Bad Epitaph co-founder Alison Hernan makes her Bad Epitaph directing debut
with this powerful tale of passion and betrayal.  Featuring M. Scott Newson
as Othello, Magdalyn Donnelly as Desdemona and Meg Chamberlain as Iago.

Why does Iago set out to destroy her trusting commander Othello?  Is it
jealousy, racism =8A or something else? A classical interpretation with a
modern twist.

Orthodox: Established in 1907, this building was the oldest Romanian
Orthodox Church in the U.S. and is now in use by Cleveland Public Theatre.
Orthodox is located next to the Gordon Square Theatre on Detroit Avenue in
Cleveland. OTHELLO is the first professional theater production in this
space.

The acting company includes Joshua D. Brown, Meg Chamberlain, Jazmin Corona=
,
Magdalyn Donnelly, Scott Esposito, Nathan Gurr, Kimberly Lauren Koljat, Dou=
g
Kusak, John Lynch, Joe Milan, M. Scott Newson and Mark Rabant.

Opening night is Friday, October 1 at 8 PM.  Performances continue Thursday=
s
through Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 7 PM, closing Saturday, October 23
at 8 PM.

General admission: $15  Students & Seniors: $12.  Reservations can be made
