Chagrin Valley Little Theatre

Announces 'The Shields Players'

August 30, 2004 : For the last 50 years, Steve Shields has been a member =
of CVLT, giving the theater a tremendous amount of his time, effort, and =
support.  In his building at the very end of River Street, we've been =
able to have a scene shop, rehearsal space, rooms for our huge costume =
inventory, props of all kinds, and a recently constructed loft for a =
multitude of furniture.  Many years ago River Street Playhouse, as it =
become known, gave CVLT the opportunity to produce wonderful smaller, =
cutting edge shows in the tiny 60 seat black box theater.  When there =
has been a large-cast show playing on our main stage, we have still been =
able to hold auditions and rehearsals for upcoming shows simultaneously =
in the "green room" in this building.  The dance studio once held =
numerous classes and additional rehearsal space.  Steve Shields provided =
all this and so much more.  Steve has nurtured the children and youth of =
our community by giving them a fantastic venue for their talent and in =
an effort to honor him, the Production and Technical Council of Chagrin =
Valley Little Theatre has designated one of the regular season main =
stage shows to be performed by a young adult cast known as The Shields =
Players.
