THE CLEVELAND BAROQUE ORCHESTRA

Position Openings (2):

Production Assistant & Music Librarian
These positions may be held by two separate people or jointly by one person.

Organization:  Apollo’s Fire is one of the leading period-instrument
orchestras in North America, with numerous national and international
broadcasts, extensive touring throughout the U.S., and six commercial CD
recordings.  Now in its 13th season, Apollo’s Fire presents a 6-program
subscription series in Cleveland and Akron, with three to five performances
of each program.  The ensemble is led by award-winning
harpsichordist/conductor Jeannette Sorrell, and comprises period-instrument
specialists from throughout North America and occasionally Europe.


1. PRODUCTION ASSISTANT:  The part-time position of Production Assistant
will assist the stage manager for all rehearsals, concerts, run-outs, and
most tours.  This includes setting up platforms in churches, moving
harpsichords, coordinating musician ground transportation, supervising
concert lighting, etc.  During the 8-9 production weeks each year, the
Production Assistant works on site in production.  DURING PRODUCTION WEEKS,
HOURS MAY RANGE FROM 10-30.

Qualifications:  Experience as an orchestral musician and/or stage manager
is essential.  Exceptional organizational skills and a mastery of logistical
details, an outgoing personality and positive attitude are also required.
The Production Assistant should be comfortable driving cargo vans and small
trucks.   HE/SHE MUST HAVE A CAR.


2. MUSIC LIBRARIAN:  The part-time position of Music Librarian will be
responsible for marking orchestral and choral parts, and occasionally
writing out and/or transposing parts.

Qualifications: The music librarian must be a musician with orchestral
experience.  He/she must have a reasonably flexible schedule, and the
ability to work within firm deadlines.


NOTE:  These positions can be combined for the candidate who can fulfill all
requirements.

Compensation:  $12-14/hour
