DANCE AUDITIONS AT SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Solon Center for the Arts is pleased to announce auditions for SCA Dance =
Ensemble and The Night Before Christmas.=20

Auditions for the Ensemble will take place on Sunday, September 19 from =
1:00 - 3:00 pm at Solon Athletic Club. Students ages 8 years and older are =
invited to audition.=20

The SCA Dance Ensemble is a great performance opportunity for local dance =
students to grow in technique, stage presence and ensemble dancing. The =
Ensemble will have opportunities to travel to different venues and perform =
for groups around the area as a service to the community. The Ensemble =
will be taught and choreographed by Michael Medcalf, Executive/Artistic =
Director of Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre, with assistance from =
additional CCDT dancers. Students participating in the Dance Ensemble are =
required to enroll in one additional dance class held at SCA. Classes will =
run from October 2 - June 4 (30 weeks) with no classes on November 27 or =
March 25 - April 3. The Ensemble rehearses from 12:30 - 2:30 pm on =
Saturdays.

Auditions will also be held for The Night Before Christmas on Sunday, =
September 19 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Solon Athletic Club. Students ages 8 =
and older are invited to audition. The Night Before Christmas will be =
presented by SCA Dance Ensemble and CCDT on Saturday, December 4 at 7:30 =
pm at the Solon High School Auditorium.=20

Directed by Michael Medcalf, students will participate in The Night Before =
Christmas with several regional actors. The show is open to the community =
and a part of the 2004-2005 SCA SuperPass Theater Season. It is an =
emotionally charged dance, theater and musical journey of contemporary and =
gospel music, featuring Duke Ellington=92s rendition of Tchaikovsky=92s =
=93The Nutcracker Suite.=94
