Independent digital filmmaker Christopher K. Young's survive-the-night
drama Sugar has received an Award of Excellence at The Berkeley Video
and Film Festival in the digital feature category.  The largest
independent video and film festival in Northern California, the BVFF
will be held October 15, 16 and 17, 2004.  Information on the award and

Sugar follows the character of Hailie, a 9 year old girl who leaves her
suburban home for a tension filled night in the city, in search of her
mother whom she believes to be kidnapped.  Filmed predominantly in
Cleveland and Akron, Sugar showcases the cities with Young's award
winning eye for electronic cinematography.  He also mixed the film's
electro-trance soundtrack, having also composed most of its tracks.

Christopher K. Young's previous films have been featured in film
festivals nationally and abroad, including the Ohio Independent Film
Festival, where a co-nominee of his Best Short nominated film The
Blessing of Prometheus went on to receive an Academy Award Nomination.
Mr. Young is finishing work on a series titled Seeing, and is beginning
