Last weekend for the

musical Production of “Pets!”

The Broadview Heights Spotlights’ musical production of “Pets” closes this weekend (Oct. 1st-3rd) with a show on Friday at 8PM and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 3PM—perfect timing for the whole family to attend. Directed by Beth Ayers, the show is a musical revue focusing on the very special relationship between people and their pets. You’ll enjoy the foreign woman (portrayed by Fran Norris) who walks dogs for a living; you’ll cry with Allison Naso as she bids farewell to her childhood pet when she leaves for college; you’ll identify with the writer (Cathy Calabrese) who is inspired by her parakeet; you’ll smile as mama cat Deb Sweat teaches her young’uns to be “cool cats”; your heart will be warmed by the “peculiar” duo Lauren Berry and Scott Brunner; and you’ll laugh as the love-sick iguana (Aaron Kastanis) reminisces. Stage manager Sue Jeromson rounds out the cast for truly delightful show.

The production is enhanced by several exhibits, including the artwork of Gerry Conrad, whose portrayal of feminine beauty is captured in her collection of pen and ink drawings. Ms. Conrad’s works have been on display at various places and her calendar is available through Borders Books. Local animal adoption agencies as well as Apple Hill Animal Hospital will also be represented at the show.

The Broadview Heights Spotlights perform at the Cultural Arts Building on the Broadview Center Property (9543 Broadview Road—1/2 mile south of Rt. 82). Enter the main drive, turn right at the flag pole, follow the signs past the police department, and turn right on next drive.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children 12 & under and seniors 65 & over. For reservations or information, call 440/526-4404 or visit the Spotlights’ website at broadview-heights-spotlights.org.

(Produced through special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing)
