(2 miles from the corner of Rt 422 and Rt 306 - And - We have

TO REGISTER, Call 440-338-3171

This class focuses on the work of finding the human comedy in 'action' and
'behavior; In this class we explore the gentle behavioral humor found in
Chekhov's characters -- who, as Chekhov has said: "sit smugly eating peas
while their life is falling apart all around them". -- Behavior is the
key; born of the inner monologue, physical action, affective memory and the
often absurd yet altogether human yearnings in Chekhov's plays.

Exercises include: Script Analysis, Action, Given Circumstances, Communion,
Comedy Technique.
Scene Work: Two person scenes from the 4 Major plays of Chekhov. The
Seagull, The Three Sisters, Uncle Vanya and The Cherry Orchard.

Text: An Actor Prepares by Constantin Stanislavski

REVIEW OF CLASSES (Scene Magazine - September 2004)
"Many of the area's professional actors and quite a number of aspiring
amateurs seek out Tom Fulton for guidance in developing stage
characterizations. Basing his classes at the Fairmount Center on the
teachings of Stanislavski, Fulton goes far beyond the stereotype of self
indulgent method acting. By putting each performer in touch with the
physical reality of the role under consideration, Fulton purges actors of
the "head games" they love to indulge in--and he does it all with a warm
smile."
