SynthCleveland will present the F.W. Murnau 1922 classic silent
film "Nosferatu," featuring a new live soundtrack on Wednesday,
October 20 at 8pm, at Rain Nightclub, 4142 Lorain Avenue in
Cleveland.

The new score will be performed by SynthCleveland members bands
the scinema, Dust_Head, notech, Luigi-Bob Drake, Steven K. Smith
and tofu.

Murnau changed the name and ghastly appearance of his villain
Count Orlock, but this unauthorized version of Bram Stoker's
Dracula couldn't fool the Stoker estate, and it became the
center of a lawsuit that almost resulted in its complete
destruction. It managed to survive and as Film Critic Pauline
Kael remarked, "... this first important film of the vampire
genre has more spectral atmosphere, more ingenuity, and more
imaginative ghoulish ghastliness than any of its successors."

The score will "orchestrated" by SynthCleveland member Mike
Crooker. Crooker also recently scored the music to the
independent horror film "Gloom," produced by area filmmakers
First Cut Studios (http://www.firstcutstudios.org/). There
will be a special screening of "Gloom" held during the
intermission of "Nosferatu."

 SynthCleveland (http://www.synthcleveland.com/) is a resource
group for area electronic musicians holding meetings and
presenting workshops related to electronic music. The group
has grown to over 160 members, released two compilation CD's
"Foundation: Cleveland Electronic 2002", and "Foundation II:
Cleveland Elctronic 2003".

Rain Nightclub is located at 4142 Lorain Avenue (216-651-4100).
