HI ALL
i'm so confused...i do not belong to any kind of "union" like equity or aftra or sag or anything like that. does this mean that when auditions say EPA or SAG or UNION that i am unable to audtion? am i only able to audition for nonunion roles and productions? what does it mean when it says "equity rules in effect? or "lort d in effect"? does it mean that if i DO audition for something with, say, equity attached to it, that i am required to become part of whatever union it is? i've tried to read up on some of these things, but its still confusing, could someone explain these rules in plain old english? hopefully i'm not the only one out there who is confused by these terms...
