Hello Friends in NE Ohio Theatre land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ASPIRING Playwrights.....got nothing better to do this weekend?!?!?!?!?!
Well grab a FedEx box and fire up your inkjet.....
The deadline for this festival had passed, but when I told the folks here in
Texas about all the fab untapped wordsmiths who read NEOHIOPAL (in much the
same way Pat Robertson watches the Weather Channel - for signs of the
apocalypse), they said 'Why shucks, Son, give 'em a holler!
So here goes.....
________________________________________________________________________
The University of Houston (TX) Edward Albee/Lanford Wilson New Plays
Workshop is STILL seeking submissions for the upcoming Spring 2005
session!!!!!!!!!!!!
The FINAL, ABSOLUTE Deadline?
Submissions (non-musicals), full length or one act, along with a cover
letter and contact info should be MUST be postmarked (and preferably
overnighted) by THIS MONDAY, OCTOBER 25!!! to:
Sandy Judice
UH School of Theatre Office
133 Wortham
Houston TX 77204-4016
Participants will be hand-selected by Pulitzer Prize winning Playwright
Lanford Wilson, who will then personally lead writers in a semester-long
workshop focusing on craft, culminating in a fully staged workshop
performance in April. Participation requires enrollment at U of H for the
spring 2005 semester.
This workshop is an amazing opportunity for new/developing playwrights
seeking a sense of direction and focused work on craft led by a living
legend, and the tuition is reasonable.
You may view last year's program information at
http://www.class.uh.edu/theatre/Performance/newplays.htm
This year's format will be virtually identical, with Lanford Wilson leading
the workshop in lieu of Edward Albee.
