San Francisco Oven to Host Opening Night Reception for You’re A Good Man
Charlie Brown

The Hudson Players production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Revival
Version) is readying for its opening night November 5, 2004 at Barlow
Community Center located on Oviatt Street in Hudson, across from the Hudson
Fire Department. As tradition has it, the cast and crew will join the
audience afterwards for a fun filled opening night reception. Hosted by San
Francisco Oven in Hudson’s First & Main development, the reception will
offer a chance to mingle along with free appetizers, a cash bar and the
great San Francisco Oven menu. Tickets are available by calling 330-655-8522
or by visiting The Learned Owl Bookstore.

Of course, what better time to think about Peanuts comic strips and the show
You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown then fall. Most familier with the classic
characters probably most vividly recall Lucy holding (or not holding) the
football for Charlie Brown, Linus and the Great Pumpkin and of course, the
Charlie Brown Christmas special. Thus it seems very appropriate to bring the
beloved characters to life durning the month of November for the enjoyment
of young and old alike.

The popular broadway show is best described as an average day in the life of
Charlie Brown. It is a day full of fun and humor and made up of little
moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to
the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with
the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on
the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit
evening. All this is set to fun, upbeat music that both adults and kids will
enjoy during the show and beyond.

The Hudson Players cast of characters includes Don Knepper as Charlie Brown,
Beth Alexander as Sally Brown, Johnny Rocco as Linus VanPelt, Eileen Burns
as Lucy VanPelt, Ron Cuirle as Schroeder, Mark Judy as Snoopy and Doug
Lillibridge, Claudia Lillibridge, Darlene Fonzi and Kirk Worcester as the
rest of the peanuts gang. The show is directed by Rich Jagunic, who last
directed Fiddler on the Roof for the Hudson Players. He was also director
for the Hudson Players’ Ohio Community Theater Award winning production of
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat among others.

Performances will be November 5, 6, 12, 13, 14*, 19 & 20 at 8 pm at the
Barlow Community Center. Curtain time is 8 p.m. with the November 14th
performance being a special 2 p.m. matinee. Tickets are $12, with student,
senior and group discounts available. Tickets can be purchased in advance at
the Learned Owl Bookstore on Main St in Hudson or reserved by call
330-655-8522. More information on the production and the rest of the Hudson
Players season is available via the Hudson Players website
(www.hudsonplayers.com) or by calling 330-655-8522.

Next up for the group will be a production of the revival version of Annie
Get Your Gun. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, November 8 & 9, at
7 p.m. at the Barlow Community Center (This is a change from the dates
previously announced), with the show scheduled to run February 4, 5, 11, 12,
18, 19, 20, 25 & 26.

The Hudson Players are one of the area’s longest running community theaters
and are members of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, The Ohio Community
Theatre Association and the American Association of Community Theater. The
Hudson Players are a non-profit 501-C-3 organization.
